On September 30, 2025, Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary came alive with color 🌈 as students and staff celebrated the beloved book The Day the Crayons Quit. Each grade level dressed in a different color 👕👗, creating a vibrant rainbow across the campus.
Students gathered for group photos 📸, proudly showing off their assigned colors and bringing the story’s playful spirit to life. In the library, Mrs. Lumbreras, the school librarian, shared the book 📖 with her classes, sparking laughter 😂 and imagination 💡 as students connected with the crayons’ voices and personalities.
The celebration extended beyond the students, with staff joining in the fun 🎉 by dressing up as well. The event highlighted the joy of reading ❤️, creativity ✨, and community 🤝, making it a memorable day for the entire school. #lajoyaisd #HBGpride #HenryBGonzalezElementary
