At Henry B. Gonzalez, students and staff embraced the 12 Days of Christmas celebration by wearing festive holiday accessories.

Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary is proud to recognize our Reading Challenge Raffle winners—Delayza Pena(5th grade) and Lucas Gonzalez(3rd grade)! 🎉📚

Throughout the month of November, students were encouraged to dive into books and track their reading. All participants received a candy treat for taking part in the challenge. In addition, every student who completed the challenge earned an entry into a raffle provided by our librarian, Mrs. S. Lumbreras.

📚 National Reading Month Celebration

In observance of National Reading Month, Mr. Juan Olvera from the Bilingual and Migrant Department was invited by librarian Ms. S. Lumbreras to Henry B. González Elementary to share the joy of reading with our students. Mr. Olvera conducted a read-aloud in the library for the 3rd grade classes of Mr. Rodriguez and Ms. Martinez, featuring Rooster’s Off to See the World by Eric Carle.

Students actively participated and enjoyed exploring the story’s colorful journey, which encouraged curiosity, imagination, and a love for books. Events like these remind students that reading opens doors to new worlds and endless possibilities.
